Job Description
Gina's Cucina Siciliana is seeking a Kitchen Manager as we launch our restaurant this year in 2026 in Gaithersburg, Maryland to help us with kitchen design, operations-planning, health/safety compliance, menu-planning, and refining our concept. When we launch in 2026, your role will evolve into leadership of the Gina's kitchen to execute our menu, administer scheduling, manage inventory, supervise line cooks, and participate in the cooking to ensure the finest quality. As a new restaurant position at Gina's, this is an opportunity for you to use your skills to build a vision from the ground up with our leadership team. We will offer profit sharing and equity to those who want to work with us in building Gina's over the long term. We will work together with you to finalize the menu and implement operations practices that will delight our guests and cultivate a fulfilling professional environment for our staff-team. Prior experience with Italian/Sicilian food is not a requirement because we will teach you. Our restaurant is gluten free (GF) based on over 10 years of experience with the gluten free ('senza glutine') techniques of Italy and Sicily, so we are seeking candidates willing to learn/execute our GF culinary methods. The traits we are looking for in the ideal candidate are: kindness to guests/staff, humble team-spirit to bring Gina's recipes to the world, growth mindset toward learning and collaborating, cooking-expertise for running an efficient kitchen, and high organizational skills. We are seeking a candidate who is interested in working in the DC/Maryland/Virginia (DMV) or lives in the area currently. We are a community-based restaurant, so we are hoping to find a candidate that would enjoy working with our Maryland team to bring our special foods and fine dining to Maryland. We have a Culinary Director, CEO, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and COO who will support you, so this will be a collaborative team dynamic. Initially, the role is flexible, possibly on salary or hourly consulting while we are under construction, and becomes full time as we get closer to launch in 2026. We can negotiate the best hours and times that suit your schedule if Gina's is the right fit for you. The Gina's mission statement says: ' To create and serve delicious, authentic and heart-warming Sicilian cuisine with utmost hospitality, joyful togetherness, and nurturing care for our guests, staff, partners and community.'
