Negril Jamaican Eatery is looking for a motivated and hands-on Assistant General Manager to lead daily operations, drive team performance, and provide top tier service to our customers, at our Silver Spring, MD and DC locations. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills who's ready to grow with a well-established community staple. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for all areas of store operations, with the support of the General Manager.

Schedule and Hours:
• Full-Time, 50+ hours per week, Overtime eligible • Availability Monday - Saturday required
Pay:
• Starting pay at $21.50/hr with increase at 6 months of successful training completion
Responsibilities:
Scheduling of team members based on operational needs, in accordance with the guidelines of the Negril policies, and applicable laws and regulations Maintain high standards of employee appearance and conduct to ensure a pleasant experience for customers Train new and existing team members to meet company standards and expectations Maintain clean and safe working order of the facility, equipment, and building exterior Ensure a clean and pleasant environment for customers at all times Monitor inventory levels, track food costs, and implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability. Monitor and maintain a high standard of food quality and safety, in accordance with specifications outlined by Negril Eatery and applicable laws and regulations concerning food handling and preparation including HACCP standards Manage cash handling, reconciliation, and deposit in strict compliance with the policies and procedures Ensure timely and accurate completion of all reports and paperwork required
Qualifications:
ServSafe certification (strongly preferred) 2+ year(s) of management experience, with proven experience as an Assistant Manager or in a similar leadership role within the restaurant industry (required) 1+ year(s) of food service industry experience (required) 3+ year(s) of customer service experience (required) Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, which may include, but are not limited to, standing for long periods, bending, twisting, reaching, walking, lifting - up to 50 pounds, and performing routine restaurant tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED In-depth knowledge of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house functions. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team. Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards. Strong Knowledge of Food and Labor costs.
