Full Job Description Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and motivated Kitchen Manager and Lead Chef to oversee daily kitchen operations while leading and supporting the back-of-house team. This role is responsible for maintaining food quality, kitchen cleanliness, staff performance, inventory management, and overall kitchen efficiency. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads by example, and is passionate about delivering exceptional food and service.

Responsibilities:

Kitchen Operations:

Oversee daily kitchen operations during prep, service, and closing shifts Ensure all food is prepared consistently according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times Monitor ticket times and maintain smooth communication with front-of-house staff Ensure compliance with health department regulations and food safety standards

Team Leadership:

Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff Create and maintain prep lists and station assignments Assist with scheduling and performance management Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment Step into any kitchen role as needed during busy service periods

Inventory & Cost Control:

Manage food ordering, inventory counts, and vendor relationships Monitor food waste and portion control to maintain cost goals Ensure proper storage, rotation, and labeling of all products Assist in developing and updating menu items, specials, and recipes

Administrative Duties:

Help develop systems to improve efficiency and consistency Communicate equipment maintenance or repair needs to management Support overall restaurant goals and operational standards

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a kitchen leadership role Experience with inventory and food cost management Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment Ability to train and mentor crew members Excellent communication and organizational skills Reliable, punctual, and able to multitask effectively Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
