Job Description

Kitchen and Pre-Engineered Fire Suppression Systems Manager We are seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Hood Fire Suppression Service Manager to lead and oversee our commercial kitchen hood suppression and pre-engineered fire suppression systems division. This position is responsible for managing field operations, supervising technicians, coordinating projects, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, technical fire protection knowledge, project management experience, and the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Position Summary The Fire Suppression Systems Operations Manager will oversee the inspection, testing, maintenance, installation, permitting, and project management of commercial kitchen hood suppression systems and industrial pre-engineered fire suppression systems. This role serves as a key point of contact between customers, field technicians, vendors, manufacturers, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs). This individual will lead a team of technicians while helping drive operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, quality workmanship, code compliance, and business growth. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesOperations & Team Leadership Lead, mentor, supervise, and support a team of fire suppression technicians Coordinate daily field operations and technician scheduling Monitor workload distribution, manpower planning, and project timelines Promote a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and quality workmanship Assist with technician training, onboarding, and performance management Conduct field visits and provide technical support as needed Inspection, Testing & Maintenance (ITM) Schedule and coordinate inspections, testing, and maintenance services for commercial kitchen and industrial pre-engineered fire suppression systems Review inspection reports and ensure timely completion of deficiency repairs Prepare quotations for ITM services, repairs, system upgrades, and corrective actions Ensure all inspections and services comply with applicable NFPA standards, manufacturer requirements, and local codes Estimating & Sales Support Prepare accurate quotations and proposals for: New suppression system installations System upgrades and retrofits Inspection and maintenance agreements Deficiency repairs and corrective work Coordinate with customers, contractors, and internal teams to develop project scopes and schedules Identify opportunities for additional services, upgrades, and long-term customer support Project Management Manage suppression system projects from initial planning through final acceptance Coordinate project schedules, labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment Monitor project progress to ensure deadlines and customer expectations are met Maintain communication with customers regarding project status, scheduling, and system readiness Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget Design, Drawings & Permitting Create and review fire suppression system drawings and submittal packages Submit plans and permit applications to local Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) Coordinate revisions, approvals, and permit tracking Schedule final inspections and acceptance testing with customers and AHJs Ensure documentation is complete and maintained accurately for all projects Compliance & Quality Assurance Maintain compliance with NFPA standards, manufacturer guidelines, OSHA requirements, and local fire codes Ensure proper documentation of inspections, testing, maintenance, and installation activities Monitor quality control standards and workmanship consistency Stay current on industry codes, technologies, and best practices Qualifications Experience in commercial kitchen hood suppression systems and/or industrial pre-engineered fire suppression systems Previous leadership or management experience in the fire protection industry preferred Strong understanding of NFPA standards and fire protection industry practices Experience with permitting processes and working with AHJs Ability to create and interpret system drawings and project documentation Strong project management and organizational skills Excellent communication and customer service abilities Proficiency with estimating, scheduling, and project coordination Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Preferred Qualifications Manufacturer certifications such as Range Guard, Buckeye, Ansul, Pyro-Chem, Kidde, Amerex, or similar Experience managing multiple technicians and concurrent projects Knowledge of wet chemical systems and industrial suppression applications Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Company vehicle Health and dental insurance Paid time off and holidays 401k Training and professional development opportunities Why Join Our Team This is an opportunity to play a leadership role within a small family owned fire protection company while helping protect people, businesses, and facilities through high-quality fire suppression solutions.
