Job Description
About Us We are building a farm stop and cafe in Saline, Michigan. A place where the products on the shelves (food, skincare, pantry staples, and more) come from makers and farmers whose practices we know and trust. Nothing that requires reading the fine print. The standard on every shelf, every product, and every ingredient comes down to one question: does this heal, or does it harm? This is the first location of what will become a national brand. The Role We need someone to help build this from the ground up and run it once it's open. This is a hands-on operations and management role spanning both the market and the cafe, with real room to grow as the brand expands. What You'll Do Research and source vendors whose products meet our standard Build relationships with local and regional farmers who supply the store Contribute to cafe operations, working alongside the team developing the menu, drink recipes, and housemade syrups Participate in the physical buildout: design input, architecture meetings, and working with builders Represent the market & cafe in the community at local events, town meetings, and wherever relationships matter Lead hiring, training, and scheduling for store and cafe staff Set up POS systems and day-to-day operational processes Oversee signage, merchandising, and physical store setup Contribute to online store and product shipping operations Help develop the operational playbook as we expand into additional locations Who You Are This work resonates with you, not as something you stumbled onto but as something you've been living toward Self-directed and resourceful : you see what needs to happen and you go do it A servant at your core: you lead by doing and no task is beneath you Comfortable building in a role that is still taking shape Local to Saline, Michigan Experience in retail, food service, cafe operations, or farm and market environments is a plus What This Becomes You are the first person building the physical side of this brand.
