Hold The Wheat is a small but growing gluten free bakery and coffee shop that opened in March 2022. We pride ourselves on having a fun and inclusive culture as well as a strong focus on minimizing our carbon footprint and supporting our community.
Looking for:
Front of house bakery counter lead This position is full time with typical schedule running Tuesday-Saturday or Wednesday-Sunday. Start time will typically be between 5:30 and 6 am. Weekend availability a must. Other fill in days times as needed to cover vacations or employee absences. Pay for this role is $21-22/hr plus generous tips! Health benefits and employee discount. This is primarily customer service role with managerial responsiblities. Overview We are seeking an experienced, energetic and dedicated Front of House Bakery Manager to lead our bakery's customer service and Front end daily operations. This dynamic role combines leadership, culinary passion, and exceptional hospitality skills to create a welcoming environment for our guests. As the face of our bakery, you will oversee front-of-house activities, ensure outstanding customer experiences, and manage a team committed to quality food and service excellence. Your passion for gluten free pastry, quality coffee, staff development, and operational efficiency will drive the success of our bakery. Responsibilities Open and set up bakery-including icing pastries, setting up case and POS, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Lead and motivate the front-of-house team to deliver exceptional customer service in a busy and fast-paced bakery environment. Manage POS systems for accurate cash handling, order processing, and sales reporting. Ensure inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste through effective food management practices. Train staff on food handling, customer service, selling techniques, and safety protocols to foster a knowledgeable and professional team. Supervise shift management, including scheduling staff, overseeing workflow, and resolving customer concerns promptly. Implement training & development programs to enhance team skills in sales techniques, and food industry best practices. Suggestive selling to increase sales. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years direct customer service experience. Minimum of 2 year supervisory experience. Good communication skills and attention to detail. Welcoming personality, positive attitude, and team player. Knowledge of what it means to be gluten free and attention to allergy concerns and ingredients. Ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment. A self-starter who takes the initiative when needed. Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude Proven experience in food and beverage knowledge, bakery or cafe management, or hospitality management within quick service & fast casual dining settings. Strong supervisory skills with experience in staff training, interviewing, and team management. Familiarity with POS systems for cash handling and sales transactions. Knowledge of food safety standards, inventory control, staff management, and food handling procedures. Excellent customer service skills with a passion for creating positive guest experiences. Background in culinary customer service preferred.
