Summary:
The Assistant Manager will play a key role in supporting the General Manager by overseeing daily operations, training, and developing hourly employees. This position is responsible for ensuring effective use of company training systems, maintaining compliance with policies, and fostering a positive work environment.
Responsibilities:
Devote at least four hours per week to one-on-one training of hourly employees through teaching moments, demonstrations, and questioning. Ensure proper use of and compliance with company training systems and materials. Interview, hire, and onboard new employees. Conduct timely formal and informal evaluations of employee performance and progress. Recommend and administer pay increases. Apply progressive discipline fairly and consistently, including terminations when necessary. Assist in leading employee meetings as needed. Communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms. Be capable of fulfilling and meeting all food cost, scheduling, and payroll tasks and standards (once trained on and assigned these tasks). Expedite necessary repairs and/or maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of all equipment and furnishing within and around the shop. Follow written and verbal direction promptly. Qualifications & Experience Proven leadership and managerial experience. Strong people skills with the ability to train, coach, and motivate employees. Effective collaborator with strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Valid driver's license Previous restaurant or food service background is preferred
