Job Description

Shaggy's on the Rez is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead our vibrant kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for seafood cuisine, a strong commitment to quality and safety, and the leadership skills to maintain smooth kitchen operations in a fast-paced, welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring top-notch performance and morale. Schedule kitchen employees to ensure efficient coverage during peak hours. Inspire teamwork and foster a fun, family-friendly culture in the kitchen.
Operational Excellence:
Oversee the preparation of fresh seafood dishes, maintaining high standards of taste and presentation. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including regular cleanliness checks. Manage inventory, order seafood and other supplies, and minimize waste.
Financial Oversight:
Monitor food and labor costs, ensuring the kitchen operates within budget. Collaborate with the General Manager to develop menu specials and improve profitability. Analyze kitchen performance metrics and implement improvements.
Guest Experience:
Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure timely and exceptional service. Address and resolve any guest concerns related to food quality. Continuously improve menu offerings to delight our guests.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification preferred. 3+ years of experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or similar role, preferably in a seafood restaurant.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong leadership and communication skills. Expertise in seafood preparation and kitchen safety practices. Ability to manage inventory and control costs effectively.
