Job Description
Overview We are seeking a motivated, optimistic, and energetic Assistant Manager to help guide our operations with high energy, passion, and a customer-centered approach. In this pivotal role, you will assist the General Manager with overseeing daily cafe functions, driving sales growth, managing teams, and ensuring exceptional customer service. Your leadership will inspire staff, optimize operational efficiency, and uphold the highest standards of cafe management. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional passionate about management and team development to make a significant impact in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on role requiring standing for long periods, lifting, bending and being very active. Responsibilities Lead and supervise all cafe activities, including sales, cost of goods, and customer service to ensure seamless operations. Implement and oversee existing systems and strategies to meet sales targets, improve profitability, and enhance customer satisfaction. Recruit, interview, train, and develop team members to foster a motivated and high-performing workforce. Manage employee hiring, orientation, scheduling, and performance evaluations to maintain a productive work environment. Oversee all cafe operations, maintenance, cleaning, prep and task lists to ensure optimal functions and efficiency. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, cash handling procedures, and regulatory requirements. Utilize management tools to analyze sales data, employee performance, scheduling needs etc to maximize potential volume. Work side-by-side with General Manager to grow sales, uphold structure and create a flourishing environment. Qualifications Proven experience in management or supervisory roles with strong leadership skills (food service preferred but not required). Solid understanding of cafe operations including cost of goods, scheduling, team leadership and development, hands on management skills, and POS systems. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to motivate teams and build positive relationships with customers. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently. Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience in a similar fast-paced, fast-growing environment is preferred. Requirements Must have reliable transportation and be able to drive catering orders as they are received. Must have their own laptop computer to perform the necessary functions for this role. 45 hours per week minimum. Hours are dependent on the needs of the cafe. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to lift over 25lbs regularly. Must show dedication and passion for this hands-on role.
