THE POSITION
Shipping Manager for a fast-paced Butner manufacturer. Hours are M-F, 7:30a-3:30p with occasional overtime based on customer demand. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Shipping Manager include the following: Schedule and ensure that outbound shipments on our company-owned fleet meet customer needs and requirements. Assure accurate verification of all quantities, and descriptions of products and materials shipped and received. Oversee safe and efficient handling of all products and materials. Facilitate replenishment of product and materials to production lines. Provide leadership and supervision for our Drivers, Material Handlers as well as assign daily work and set work priorities for the department. Process shipping and receiving paperwork and transactions in a timely manner. Transact inventory movements using inventory control system. Assist in performing periodic inventory cycle counts. Maintain warehouse cleanliness. Maintain a safe working environment and assure departmental compliance with safety policies and procedures. Perform Material Handling position duties on a daily basis. Interact with customers and vendors. Act as a liaison with other departments to ensure efficiency. Responsible for the overseeing the overall safety, maintenance and cleanliness of our fleet
- single axle day cab tractors, straight truck, trailers and electric forklifts.
Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures. Overtime is available. Perform other duties as assigned. Valid NC Driver's License required

QUALIFICATIONS

Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. This job requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Other Qualifications This position requires five (5) years prior shipping and/or receiving experience; 10+ years preferred; two (2) years forklift experience, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A valid NC driver's license is required. The ability to move and spot trailers is a plus. Hiring is contingent upon an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report and background check.
