As a Heart of House Shift Manager , you play a critical role in driving operational excellence , building high performing teams , and ensuring every guest receives food that meets our brand's exceptional standards. Position Overview The BOH Shift Manager leads kitchen operations during assigned shifts and is responsible for food quality, safety compliance, speed of service, and team performance. You will set the tone for kitchen culture, maintain high standards, and develop future leaders while delivering consistent operational results. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Execute and oversee all kitchen operations during assigned shifts Ensure food quality, accuracy, presentation, and speed meet brand standards Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and health regulations Monitor labor, food cost, waste, and productivity to drive profitability Identify operational bottlenecks and implement real time solutions Team Leadership and Development Lead, coach, and hold team members accountable to performance standards Train new hires and reinforce best practices through hands on leadership Provide clear direction and consistent feedback throughout each shift Foster a culture of teamwork, urgency, and mutual respect Identify high potential team members and develop future leaders Shift Execution and Accountability Conduct pre-shift huddles to set expectations and energize the team Ensure proper staffing and position deployment for peak efficiency Maintain equipment readiness and oversee opening and closing procedures Respond calmly and effectively during high volume periods and unexpected challenges Partner with Front of House leadership to ensure a seamless guest experience Culture and Brand Representation Model integrity, service, and excellence in all actions Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment Promote positivity and professionalism in all interactions Qualifications One to three years of leadership or management experience preferred Restaurant or hospitality experience strongly preferred Proven ability to lead teams in fast paced, high volume environments Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen operations Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills Strong organizational and time management abilitiesAge 18 or older Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work Saturdays required Sundays off Ability to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings, and weekends High school diploma or equivalent required: college degree preferred Performance Expectations Consistently meet or exceed speed of service and quality benchmarks Maintain strong food safety audit scores Develop team members who are promotable and cross trained Drive measurable improvements in food cost and waste control Maintain a highly engaged and accountable kitchen team Benefits Leadership development & internal growth opportunities Supportive, positive work environment 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Paid time off Paid training Referral program Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance College scholarships (must apply and be approved annually; percentage of applicant employees receive some funding) Free meals during scheduled shifts (up to $12.50 per shift)
