The Food Resource Manager is responsible for creating, implementing and managing food acquisition strategies to increase the capacity of a Food Bank to meet the nutritional needs of people experiencing hunger.   • 5:00 PM, with a half-day every Friday (8:00 AM

This role offers a consistent 40-hour work week with the flexibility to adjust hours Monday through Thursday to ensure your weekend starts early at noon on
Friday Responsibilities:
The role is divided into four main areas of accountability:
  • Food Resource Management:
    Oversees incoming food streams (growers, manufacturers, and grocery stores); develops food resourcing strategies; monitors inventory levels (donated, government, and purchased); and tracks metrics and donor trends.
  • Relationship Building:
    Fosters long-term relationships with current and potential food donors; actively solicits high-demand products; and represents the organization at trade shows and associations.
  • Retail Food Rescue Program:
    Manages the Retail Food Rescue Program in Western ND; provides training and food safety guidelines to participating stores and drivers; and conducts donor visits to resolve service or quality issues.
Produce Program:
Sources fresh produce from farmers and the Feeding America network; coordinates "gleaning" efforts (picking produce from large plots); and collaborates with other food banks to share surplus produce.

Bachelors Experience:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required
  • At least two years of experience in sales, the food industry, or customer service (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
