FOH Assistant Manager/Shift Supervisor

Overview We are seeking a highly organized, motivated FOH Assistant Manager / Shift Supervisor to join our team. In this key leadership role, you will work a flexible schedule—including days, nights, weekends, and holidays—and partner closely with the Front of House Manager to oversee daily operations, support shift coverage, and uphold our service standards. The ideal candidate is a natural leader with a proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and strong computer proficiency. This role is essential in ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests while supporting the Front of House Manager in all aspects of front-of-house operations. Experience in food service management, especially across different restaurant concepts, is highly valued. Key Responsibilities Assist the Front of House Manager in overseeing daily front-of-house operations and maintaining high service standards. Train, coach, and develop staff in customer service, food handling, and safety protocols. Enforce company policies and procedures consistently and fairly. Handle cash transactions accurately and oversee operation of POS systems (including Micros POS). Supervise front-of-house staff (hosts, servers, bartenders, support staff) to ensure efficient, guest-focused service. Support the FOH Manager with effective staff scheduling to meet business needs and manage labor costs. Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and accountability. Address guest inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure a positive dining experience. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the dining room, bar, and all front-of-house areas. Assist the FOH Manager with special events, catering services, and banquets as needed. Requirements Proven experience in restaurant management or as an Assistant Manager/Shift Supervisor in a fast-paced environment. Ability to follow the direction of the FOH Manager and openness to coaching and constructive feedback. Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and hold team members accountable. Proficiency in cash handling procedures and familiarity with POS systems (Micros POS experience preferred). Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on creating memorable guest experiences. Previous experience in fine dining or casual dining establishments preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and composure under pressure. Strong verbal and written communication skills, solid computer skills, and prior supervisory experience.
