Nobo is seeking an experienced and passionate General Manager to lead our front-of-house operations and help drive the next stage of our growth. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives on building strong teams, creating exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining high operational standards. Position Summary The General Manager serves as the leader of the restaurant, overseeing daily operations, team development, guest satisfaction, financial performance, and overall culture. This individual is responsible for ensuring excellence in every aspect of the guest and employee experience while supporting the restaurant's long-term growth and success. The ideal candidate is comfortable acting as both a strategic leader and a hands-on operator. This role requires someone who can balance big-picture thinking with day-to-day execution, whether coaching team members, resolving guest concerns, improving systems and processes, or stepping in wherever needed to support service and the overall operation. The General Manager will serve as a key partner to ownership, helping to shape operational strategy, support business growth initiatives, and uphold the standards and culture that define the guest experience.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development Recruit, interview, hire, train, and develop front-of-house staff Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture Lead pre-shift meetings and ongoing staff education Coach and mentor employees to support growth and performance Manage scheduling and labor costs while maintaining service standards Lead recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee development initiatives Promote a culture of hospitality, professionalism, and continuous improvement Operations Oversee all daily restaurant operations Ensure exceptional guest experiences and service consistency Maintain cleanliness, organization, and adherence to company standards Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure seamless service execution Manage reservations, guest relations, and special events Troubleshoot operational challenges in real time Support all areas of the operation as needed, maintaining a visible and active presence on the floor Identify opportunities to improve systems, efficiency, and overall restaurant performance Lead execution of private dining events, community partnerships, and special programming Financial Management Monitor labor and operating expenses Manage payroll and timekeeping processes Assist with budgeting and financial reporting Track key performance indicators and implement strategies for improvement Maintain accountability for labor targets, profitability goals, and overall financial performance Administrative Duties Maintain compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations Manage vendor relationships and operational ordering needs Oversee POS systems, reporting, and daily administrative functions Ensure accurate record keeping and completion of required documentation Partner with ownership on marketing efforts, special events, and strategic growth initiatives
Qualifications:
5+ years of restaurant leadership experience, including experience as a General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or comparable senior leadership role Experience in a full-service, upscale casual, or fine dining environment preferred Experience opening, growing, or scaling restaurant operations strongly preferred Demonstrated success in team development, culture building, and employee retention Experience managing budgets, labor controls, payroll, and operational reporting Ability to build systems, improve processes, and drive continuous operational improvement Strong understanding of hospitality standards and guest experience management Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities Ability to thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment Experience with Toast and OpenTable preferred
