Weddings, Social Events, Corporate Events About Us The Cosmopolitan is one of Northern New Jersey's premier event venues, hosting weddings, social celebrations, corporate events, and cultural gatherings. We are seeking an experienced Event Banquet Manager / Maître D' to lead front-of-house operations and ensure every event is executed with professionalism, attention to detail, and exceptional guest service. Position Overview The Event Banquet Manager serves as the primary on-site leader during events. This individual is responsible for coordinating staff, working with clients and vendors, maintaining event timelines, and ensuring a seamless guest experience from arrival through event completion. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, highly organized, service-oriented, and experienced in luxury hospitality, weddings, or banquet operations. Responsibilities Oversee front-of-house operations during events Manage banquet captains, servers, bartenders, and support staff Coordinate with clients, planners, vendors, and venue management Ensure event timelines are followed Conduct pre-event staff meetings and assignments Monitor food and beverage service standards Handle guest requests and resolve issues professionally Maintain venue appearance and service quality throughout events Assist with room setup verification and event readiness Ensure compliance with venue policies and safety procedures Complete post-event reporting and staff evaluations Qualifications Minimum 3 years of banquet, hospitality, wedding, or event management experience Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Professional appearance and demeanor Experience working with weddings and high-end social events preferred Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Fluent English required; additional languages are a plus Preferred Experience Banquet Manager Maître D' Wedding Coordinator Event Manager Restaurant Manager Hospitality Manager Luxury Venue Operations What We're Looking For We are looking for a hands-on leader who takes ownership of events, anticipates challenges before they arise, and understands that exceptional hospitality is built on preparation, communication, and attention to detail. Compensation Competitive compensation based on experience.
