Job Description

Our client, a rapidly expanding food service and franchise organization specializing in freshly prepared Asian-inspired cuisine , is seeking a highly driven and hands-on Regional Training Manager to support franchise growth, operational excellence, and food safety compliance across a multi-state territory. This position is ideal for a candidate with strong experience in sushi operations, culinary training, franchise support, restaurant operations, or retail food service management who thrives in a fast-paced, travel-intensive environment. The Regional Training Manager will play a critical role in training franchise partners, opening new retail food locations, conducting operational audits, ensuring food safety compliance, and driving consistent operational standards throughout the assigned region. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute regional training initiatives for both new and existing franchise operators.
Deliver hands-on training through:
On-site coaching Classroom instruction Virtual training sessions Operational demonstrations Train franchisees and culinary staff on: Food preparation standards Product quality Food safety protocols Operational procedures Merchandising and presentation standards Support and oversee: New store openings Franchise ownership transitions Operational launches Field readiness assessments Conduct operational audits and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to: Food safety standards Brand standards Operational procedures Regulatory requirements Evaluate franchisee performance and determine readiness for independent operations. Develop and implement corrective action plans for underperforming locations. Act as the regional subject matter expert for: Operational training Food safety compliance Franchise support Culinary execution Resolve operational challenges independently while balancing business objectives and operational consistency. Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, audit findings, and training records. Build strong working relationships with franchisees, retail partners, vendors, and internal leadership teams. Temporarily support or operate locations when staffing or franchise coverage gaps arise. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED Prior experience as a Sushi Chef in a high-volume environment Strong hands-on culinary and food preparation experience Experience training or mentoring culinary or operations staff Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned region Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred Bachelor's Degree Culinary Degree or formal culinary training Previous experience in: Franchise operations Retail food service Multi-unit restaurant operations Fresh prepared foods Grocery retail food programs Certifications such as: ServSafe Food safety certifications HACCP knowledge and compliance experience Bilingual skills in: Mandarin Burmese Desired Skills & Competencies The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Training & Development Leadership Operational Excellence Food Safety Expertise Franchise Support & Coaching Problem Solving Conflict Resolution Decision Making Business Maturity Adaptability & Resilience Relationship Building Communication & Presentation Skills Resourcefulness Accountability Independent Judgment High Energy & Sense of Urgency Travel Requirements Extensive regional travel required (67-100%) Frequent overnight travel throughout the assigned territory Field-based role supporting multiple retail food service locations Why Candidates Are Interested Opportunity to join a growing franchise and food service organization Highly visible role with direct operational impact
