Job Description

Position Summary The Café Manager is responsible for running an efficient and profitable operation. The Café Manager must ensure that the café meets company standards in sales, staffing, product quality, visual merchandising, and operations. Managers oversee all daily operations and are expected to have significant product knowledge and demonstrate positive, friendly and courteous customer service. Café Managers are expected to know the ins-and-outs of all other positions. At any time, if staff are unable to fulfill their shifts and a replacement is not found, café managers are responsible for covering the shift and making sure the café still operates efficiently. Café Managers will spend 85-90% of their time on the floor, and the other 10-15% doing administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of the café's operations, including staffing, inventory management, and customer service
  • Train and supervise café staff, ensuring they adhere to company policies and deliver excellent customer service
  • Manage daily bank deposits and cash balancing
  • Create employee schedules and manage labor costs to optimize efficiency
  • Oversee food and beverage preparation to ensure quality standards are met
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new customers and increase sales
  • Remedy any operation inconsistencies, employee incidents, accidents, potential safety hazards, or any other unusual events
  • Ensure that all team members are educated on our products and services, by developing an understanding of our various types of coffee, tea products, blends and roasts.
  • Work cooperatively and comply with company changes on a corporate level
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café at all times
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders with multiple vendors
  • Develop staff to ensure an excellent customer service experience for our guests
  • Delegate duties to staff during downtime
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience High school diploma or GED Minimum 2 years supervisory/leadership experience Experience in food service, customer service, or hospitality management Espresso bar/café experience preferred Skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong problem-solving and conflict management abilities Ability to lead and motivate a team Proficient in cash handling procedures Knowledge of food industry health and safety regulations Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) Excellent verbal and written English communication Working Conditions Ability to work evenings and weekends Physical requirements: lift up to 50lbs, frequent bending/twisting Fast-paced environment requiring multitasking Regular handling of food, hot beverages, and sharp objects This job description outlines the primary responsibilities and qualifications for the position.
