Job Description

MELTology is Long Island's favorite grilled cheese and family restaurant. Featuring brunch, dinner and late night snack, we are open 7 days a week until midnight. We are seeking experienced managers and supervisors to help lead our team at our Middle Island location, and sister store AYCE Mongolian Grill. You will be responsible for assisting the store manager in: Maintaining fast, accurate service and ensuring great customer relations
  • making sure our guests leave happy Food Cost Control
  • weekly inventory management and ordering. Ensuring all recipes are being adhered to. Training and hiring
  • interview crew and staff candidates, set up orientations, one on one training with new employees Maintain restaurant cleanliness standards Assist with finding ways to increase profitability and increase our offerings. Participate in team and company meetings On a daily/shift basis: Oversee shift operations
  • ensure checklists are complete, form food prep lists and plans, ensure staff are productive and that procedures are done correctly Greet and welcome customers Take food orders, distribute completed orders Complete transactions and maintain cash management systems Assist in food production, cooking, preparation of beverages, cleaning Maintain a clean work environment Report issues to operations manager or owner Running an opening or closing shift overseeing 2 to 8 other employees.
Taking a hands on management approach and leading by example. This is a hands on full time position with hours between 40 and 50 per week, day and night shifts and with overtime. Weekend availability is required but our schedule is very flexible to allow for time off as needed. Holidays are mandatory but we are closed on Christmas and Thanksgiving day. Base pay starts $800 weekly for first 40 hours, $30 per hour overtime, tax free.
Total estimated weekly compensation:
$850 to $1100 plus any tips PTO, Meal discounts, Bonus Plan, Health and Dental Insurance available after qualification period. High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred Must be at least 21 years of age and have relevant restaurant experience. 1+ years management or supervisory experience in restaurants.
