Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic hospitality team as an Assistant Kitchen Manager, where your culinary expertise and leadership skills will drive excellence in food preparation, kitchen operations, and team management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the culinary vision of a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, ensuring every guest receives top-quality service and delicious meals. As a vital part of our management team, you'll oversee daily kitchen activities, uphold food safety standards, and inspire staff to deliver memorable dining experiences. Duties Assist the Kitchen Manager in supervising all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality. Support inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste through effective food management practices. Lead staff training and development initiatives, including interviewing new team members, conducting onboarding sessions, and providing ongoing coaching to enhance skills in food handling, safety, and customer service. Manage shift schedules and coordinate daily kitchen activities to maintain smooth operations during busy hours in a quick service or casual dining setting. Enforce food safety regulations and sanitation standards to guarantee a safe environment for both staff and guests. Collaborate with management on budgeting efforts, cost control measures, and menu adjustments to optimize profitability. Qualifications Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment. Demonstrated supervising experience with strong leadership skills in team management and staff training. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for cash handling and order processing. Knowledge of inventory control techniques, food safety protocols, and food industry best practices. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest concerns professionally. Experience working in quick service & fast food restaurants or casual dining establishments; fine dining or hotel experience is a plus. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage shift operations efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality.
