For the Deli Assistant Manager, this means helping to lead and support all aspects of daily deli operationsassisting with team supervision, maintaining product quality and presentation, supporting workflows, and ensuring an excellent customer experience while working toward departmental goals.

Your Day-to-Day Support daily deli operations, including product preparation, merchandising, and customer serviceAssist in managing deli production planning, special orders, and seasonal offerings for both retail and catering needsPromote and maintain a safe work environment by ensuring team compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standardsHelp create and manage team schedules, aligning staffing with business needs and labor goalsRespond to customer feedback and resolve concerns to ensure satisfaction and uphold Adams reputation for exceptional serviceMonitor inventory levels and assist with ordering to ensure fresh products while minimizing wasteProactively assist to resolve operational challenges such as staffing or supply shortagesAccurately review timecards and support payroll accuracy, working with the Deli Manager to stay within payroll goalsHelp guide new team members and provide consistent training and development to support performance and growthIf assigned, participate in interviewing candidates, coaching staff, and supporting performance conversations to align department goalsMaintain visibility on the floorcheck in with team members, reinforce priorities, and ensure high-quality operations throughout the dayKeep organized records of inventory, compliance logs, and team communications to support smooth, efficient deli operationsWhat you bring to the FarmTwo or more years of management experience in a deli or other food retail settingStrong leadership, communication, and customer service skillsAbility to demonstrate, encourage, and set the example of Adams culture and values Skills in using Windows-based software and communication platforms to efficiently manage tasks, share information, and support team collaborationCommitment to exhibit enthusiasm, positivity and/or knowledge about Adams products and qualityWorking ConditionsAbility to work a flexible schedule to manage varying business demandsConsistently move, adjust, and position items weighing up to 50 poundsSafely operate deli slicers and other equipment necessary to operate the departmentAbility to remain in a stationary position for duration of shiftOccasionally ascend/descend a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladderRepeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers for duration of shiftEffectively communicate with others to exchange information in a fast-paced environmentMoving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in tight and confined spacesUse the compactor and cardboard crusher for disposing of garage and cardboardPerks of the Job At Adams, we believe in recognizing and rewarding excellent work with competitive compensation and meaningful benefits. The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including skill sets, experience, training, certifications and other business needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour. At Adams, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation.
