Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and oversee daily kitchen operations. This pivotal role combines hands-on food preparation with strategic management, ensuring exceptional dining experiences for our guests. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for culinary excellence, strong leadership skills, and a comprehensive understanding of food safety, inventory control, and team supervision. Duties:
Ensure compliance with all health & safety guidelines as laid out by New York State, Niagara County and the Niagara County Department of Health Know how to prepare, cook and plate the entire menu Know how to properly stock and clean each individual kitchen station Maintain product rotation, usage & waste Maintain proper cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen Lead daily food prep and service while working your station and overseeing all other stations in the kitchen as per Executive Chef's guidelines and instructions Assist Executive Chef in ordering of food & supplies, receiving and checking in product, recipe and menu planning & development, special events & parties, and overall kitchen management Requirements 2+ years of kitchen management experience, Head of Sous Chef experience or equivalent Effective communication skills- Catering/Event experience Effective time and task management skills
- Punctuality Personal responsibility Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time
- Knowledge of and ability to use a variety of knives, utensils & other kitchen equipment Nighttime & weekend availability
