What You'll Actually Be Running This role spans four distinct operating areas — few GM positions offer this kind of breadth: Food Service Operations- Overseeing on-site restaurants and food vendors, ensuring quality, service standards, and operational efficiency. Retail & Vendor Management
- Managing a diverse mix of retail vendors — relationships, contracts, merchandising standards, and performance. Events & Guest Experience
- Planning and executing events that drive traffic, build loyalty, and make the Marketplace a destination. Financial Performance
- Full P&L ownership — revenue targets, expense control, budgeting, cash flow, and reporting to leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily operations — across food service, retail, and event programming to achieve sales, profitability, and cash flow goals Build, coach, and retain a high-performing team — from department leads to front-line staff Manage vendor and tenant relationships — including negotiations, contracts, and performance accountability Monitor KPIs and analyze financial data — to guide decisions and improve ROI Develop and execute growth strategies — operational improvements, and systems that scale Plan and execute events — that drive guest traffic and revenue Identify and resolve maintenance needs — operational issues, and vendor/tenant concerns quickly and professionally Strengthen Hartville Marketplace — as a top regional destination for guests and vendors alikeExperience We're Looking For:
Restaurant or food service operations — hands-on leadership of a working dining or food vendor environment Retail management — storefront fundamentals including merchandising, payroll, shrink, and customer flow Grocery or high-velocity perishable retail — a strong plus; system-oriented, fast-moving operations are a natural fit P&L ownership — has owned a top line and a bottom line, not just managed an opex budget Multi-stakeholder environments — experience with tenants, vendors, or multi-unit operations strongly preferred 5+ years in operations management — 3+ years leading teams with budget responsibility Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field is a plus — but proven operational experience matters moreSkills That Will Make You Successful:
