About Us:
We are a vibrant, community-focused neighborhood cafe and retail market. We serve specialty coffee, a menu of balanced, globally-inspired foods, and curate a unique selection of artisanal retail food and beverages from local producers. We are proudly partnered with one of the area s premiere arts institutions, allowing us to host a diverse calendar of community programming. Position SummaryWe are looking for a hands-on, energetic Front of House (FOH) Manager. You will oversee daily cafe operations, manage our retail market space, and spearhead our vibrant event calendar. The ideal candidate thrives on collaboration, excels at team leadership, and understands retail merchandising. You will split your time between leading the floor, managing inventory, and keeping FOH, kitchen, and event operations perfectly aligned.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Kitchen CollaborationHire, train, and schedule FOH staff and baristas.

Partner closely with kitchen staff to ensure seamless daily food service.

Coach team members to deliver exceptional, community-minded customer service.

Lead by example during busy morning and weekend shifts.

Resolve customer feedback with empathy and professionalism.

Event Execution & ProgrammingManage FOH operations for a diverse range of special events.

Coordinate logistics for chef's dinners, cooking classes, and fundraisers.

Support programming for wellness workshops and arts/cultural gatherings.

Oversee the setup, execution, breakdown, and staffing for all events.

Daily Operations & Retail ManagementUtilize Square POS to manage daily sales, tracking, and basic reporting.

Stock and visually merchandise retail market shelves.

Track inventory levels for both the coffee bar and retail goods.

Place orders with vendors and handle cash drawer reconciliations.

Enforce health, safety, and food sanitation guidelines.
QualificationsExperience:
2+ years in cafe, restaurant, or retail management.
Systems:
High proficiency using Square POS for fast-paced service.
Events:
Strong background executing events, dinners, or community programming.
Collaboration:
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with kitchen teams.
Leadership:
Proven ability to train and motivate a small team.
Availability:
Must work weekends, early morning shifts, and evening events.
Certifications:
Food Handler or ServSafe Manager certificate required.
