The Bakery Manager is responsible for managing the daily operation of our Bakery. A Bakery Manager at Dutch-Way must be excited about opportunities to bake from scratch, work with our team to manage our freshly fried donuts every day, baking fresh made breads and handling several other products within the department. The Bakery Manager is responsible for the sales growth, profitability, and labor management (scheduling, etc.) of the department. Bakery Manager Job Duties 1. Provide exceptional service, courtesy, and friendliness to all customers. 2. Achieve necessary sales and profit goals consistent with the store budget and profit plan. 3. Along with Store Manager, work out localized merchandising plans for department. 4. Control quality of product. 5. Develop Bakery Department plans for effective space management based on movement, consumer demand, and profitability. 6. Order, merchandise, rotate, and control inventory to minimize out-of-stocks and overstocks and to maximize sales. Responsible for monitoring and discounting slow selling products and selecting or developing new items and products. 7. Follow approved procedures for receiving product, price marking, and restocking cases, to insure quality protection, accuracy, and product rotation. 8. Control department expenses. 9. Take action to control shrinkage and pilferage losses. 10. Effectively train and supervise other Bakery Department personnel. Must be knowledgeable to work throughout the department, in any position, as required to complete daily work load. 11. Ensure favorable department image with customers through a clean, attractive, and friendly department. 12. Maintain and submit required records and reports. 13. Follow all store policies and procedures. 14. Observe local conditions and competitive activity relating to the Bakery Department and keep others informed. 15. Maintain good communications in store and throughout the organization. 16. Have a self-development program. 17. Follow Federal, State, and Local guidelines and regulations for compliance with safety, health, and sanitation rules and regulations. 18. Follow store sanitation program and housekeeping procedures for prep areas, sales area, storage area, and equipment. 19. Take regular scheduled inventories. 20. Control freshness by coding all products and pulling out-of-code products daily. 21. Reduce out-of-code merchandise daily for quick sale. 22. Prepare a weekly employee schedule. 23. Must wear hat, hairnet, or hair restraint; plastic gloves and any other item required by government sanitation regulations or company policy.
