General Manager 401 Prime Luxury Fine Dining Steakhouse Leadership Position Position Overview 401 Prime is seeking a highly polished, hospitality-driven General Manager to lead operations at one of Lancaster's premier upscale dining destinations. This individual must embody luxury hospitality standards while possessing advanced knowledge of fine dining service, wine, spirits, steakhouse operations, guest relations, private dining, event execution, and team leadership. The ideal candidate is an energetic and disciplined leader capable of driving exceptional guest experiences, mentoring high-performing teams, executing elevated private events, maintaining elite operational standards, and cultivating a sophisticated dining culture rooted in professionalism, precision, and hospitality excellence. This is not a traditional restaurant management role.
This position requires a hospitality professional with elevated service standards, strong emotional intelligence, refined floor presence, and a deep passion for luxury dining, wine culture, and memorable event experiences. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Culture Lead and inspire FOH management, servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and luxury hospitality Maintain visible floor leadership during service periods Coach and develop staff through hands-on mentorship and real-time feedback Uphold all 401 Prime service standards and guest experience expectations Create a calm, polished, solutions-oriented work environment Guest Experience Oversight Ensure every guest receives a refined and memorable dining experience Actively engage with guests throughout service Handle VIP tables, guest recovery situations, and high-touch hospitality moments Anticipate guest needs and resolve issues with professionalism and urgency Maintain luxury-level service pacing and floor orchestration Private Dining & Event Coordination Event Leadership Responsibilities The General Manager will play a critical role in the planning, coordination, and flawless execution of upscale private dining experiences and special events.

Oversee private dining and special event operations from inquiry to execution Coordinate with guests, planners, vendors, chefs, and management teams Assist in curating elevated event experiences tailored to guest expectations Ensure seamless communication between FOH and BOH for all events Execute rehearsal dinners, corporate events, wine dinners, milestone celebrations, VIP experiences, and buyout events at luxury hospitality standards Develop and maintain detailed event timelines, staffing plans, and service expectations Lead pre-event meetings and operational walkthroughs Ensure event rooms, table settings, décor, and service presentation meet luxury standards Personally oversee high-profile and VIP events during execution Preferred Experience Fine dining private event execution Wine dinners and pairing events Luxury banquet or buyout management Upscale wedding rehearsal dinners and celebration events Multi-course plated event coordination Vendor and entertainment coordination Wine & Beverage Leadership Required Emphasis on Wine Knowledge Candidates should possess strong wine knowledge and a genuine passion for wine education and pairing.Preferred Qualifications Include:
WSET Certification Court of Master Sommeliers certification Equivalent luxury wine education/training Strong understanding of: Old World vs New World wines Napa and international Cabernet programs Burgundy and Bordeaux Italian varietals Champagne and sparkling wines Luxury wine service standards Wine pairing methodologyResponsibilities Include:
Assisting in wine list development Leading wine education and tastings for staff Driving premium wine sales Coaching servers on pairing language and upselling techniques Maintaining proper cellar and inventory standards Assisting with wine dinner development and execution Steakhouse & Culinary Knowledge Strong Steak Knowledge Required Candidates must understand: USDA grading systems Prime vs Choice distinctions Dry-aging processes Wagyu grading and sourcing Steak temperatures and execution standards Premium cuts and flavor profiles Luxury steakhouse presentation standards Additional Culinary Expectations Understanding of upscale side dishes and sauces Knowledge of seafood offerings and preparation methods Ability to confidently speak to ingredients, sourcing, and preparation Understanding of allergy protocols and dietary accommodations Operational Responsibilities Oversee daily restaurant operations Ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are consistently maintained Manage labor, scheduling, and staffing levels Monitor sales performance and cost controls Assist with inventory systems and ordering Maintain compliance with health, safety, and liquor regulations Coordinate with culinary leadership on service execution Staff Development Conduct ongoing training and performance coaching Lead pre-shift meetings with professionalism and energy Implement luxury hospitality standards and service refinements Develop future leaders within the organization Maintain accountability while building team morale Qualifications Required 5+ years of upscale or fine dining management experience Proven leadership in a high-volume luxury dining environment Extensive wine and beverage knowledge Strong steakhouse or elevated culinary background Experience coordinating and executing upscale private events Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Professional appearance and polished demeanor Ability to lead calmly under pressure Nights, weekends, and holiday availability Preferred Sommelier certification or wine education credentials Fine dining steakhouse management experience Experience managing premium wine programs Experience leading wine dinners and luxury events Background in luxury hospitality environments Advanced cocktail and whiskey knowledge Experience leading high-performance hospitality teams Leadership Traits We Value Hospitality-first mindset Emotional intelligence Attention to detail Professional floor presence Team development mentality Accountability and consistency Passion for luxury guest experiences Calm leadership under pressure Compensation & Opportunity 401 Prime offers a competitive compensation package based on experience, along with opportunities for professional growth within a growing hospitality organization committed to excellence, culture, and elevated dining experiences.
