Ownership Position Overview Terry's Diner is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the restaurant. This position is focused on ensuring the business runs efficiently through effective scheduling, labor management, purchasing, inventory control, food safety compliance, and staff accountability. Ownership remains actively involved in guest relations, marketing, menu, facility management, and overall business strategy. This role is ideal for a manager who enjoys building systems, maintaining standards, and helping the operation perform at a high level. Key Responsibilities Staffing & Scheduling Prepare and manage weekly employee schedules. Ensure proper staffing levels while controlling labor costs. Monitor attendance, punctuality, and overall workforce productivity. Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development. Labor & Financial Performance Monitor labor costs and identify opportunities for improvement. Review payroll for accuracy and compliance. Track key operating metrics and report results to ownership. Support efforts to improve profitability through effective operational management. Purchasing & Inventory Manage food, beverage, and supply ordering. Maintain appropriate inventory levels and controls. Conduct regular inventory counts and investigate variances. Work with vendors to ensure product quality, availability, and competitive pricing. Operations Management Ensure daily operations are executed efficiently and consistently. Support both front- and back-of-house teams in maintaining company standards. Identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions. Maintain a strong focus on organization, accountability, and execution. Food Safety & Compliance Maintain ServSafe and health department standards. Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements. Conduct routine inspections and audits of operational practices. Maintain required records, logs, and documentation. Leadership & Accountability Provide leadership and direction to supervisors and team members. Promote a positive, professional workplace culture. Address performance issues promptly and consistently. Help establish clear expectations and accountability throughout the organization. Qualifications Previous restaurant management experience required. Strong understanding of scheduling, labor management, and inventory control. Experience with purchasing and vendor relationships. Knowledge of food safety and health department regulations. ServSafe Certification preferred. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to analyze operational performance and drive improvement. Must be comfortable with technology and capable of managing daily operations through various software platforms, including POS, payroll, scheduling, inventory, purchasing, and online ordering systems. Pay:
$52,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
