Ideal candidate will be a part of a professional team in our kitchen, ensure kitchen is prepared for service, manage prep/opening/breakdown procedures, follow DHEC health and safety guidelines, and delegate duties to line cooks, prep cooks and other BOH staff as necessary. Menu knowledge, development of daily specials, and experience ordering from vendors and completing monthly inventory required. Ideal candidate will communicate closely with Executive Chef and kitchen team to ensure successful and efficient dinner service. Edison is open for dinner service Wednesday-Sunday from 4:00pm - 9:00pm; closed Mondays and Tuesdays. The restaurant is closed on all major holidays. Kitchen Manager is entitled to a sign-on bonus after 90 days, and paid vacation after one year of employment. Responsibilities Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation Prep ingredients to be ready for service, ensure other BOH staff members are prepared/stocked for service, fill out daily prep list, place orders after service nightly Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and team members Skills 5+ years kitchen experience preferred but not required Understanding of a wide variety cooking methods, recipes, ingredients, equipment, allergies and procedures Accuracy and efficiency in multi-tasking before and during service Familiar with industry's best practices Attention to detail, cleanliness and efficiency '
