JOB SUMMARY
The General Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of restaurant operations, building and developing high-performing teams, driving sales growth, managing costs and budgets, and cultivating a positive, performance-driven culture. This role requires a confident, hands-on leader who enjoys developing people, values structure and systems, is willing to step in wherever needed, and is committed to operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and consistent execution of company standards
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and develop a diverse team of employees Create and manage restaurant staffing schedules Provide coaching and mentorship to support employee growth and performance Conduct timely, constructive performance reviews Recognize and reward exceptional performance Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on accountability and service Partner with Human Resources on employee discipline and terminations in accordance with policy Train staff on safety procedures and maintain required documentation for health inspections Create an engaging, respectful, and enjoyable work environment
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient execution Analyze sales trends, customer preferences, and market conditions to identify growth opportunities Execute local store marketing and promotional initiatives Ensure consistent adherence to standard operating procedures across front-of-house, back-of-house, and service operations Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and employees Monitor inventory levels, manage food and labor costs, and implement cost-control strategies to maximize profitability Collaborate closely with kitchen leadership to ensure food quality, consistency, and timely execution Engage with guests regularly, address feedback and complaints professionally, and ensure a high level of guest satisfaction Implement strategies to enhance the dining experience and drive repeat business Develop and manage budgets, including revenue forecasting, expense control, and cost analysis Review financial statements and performance metrics, and execute strategies to improve results Ensure compliance with all health, safety, food handling, and sanitation regulations Travel locally to headquarters or other restaurant locations as needed Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills and Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house functions Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and inspire diverse teams Proven customer service and problem-solving capabilities Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and cost-control practices Excellent verbal and written communication skills High attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Solid understanding of health, safety, and compliance standards Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Education and Experience:
Proven experience as a General Manager or in a comparable leadership role within the restaurant industry High school diploma or equivalent required Successful completion of required corporate training program
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field ServSafe and/or TIPS certifications preferred
Additional Requirements:
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to move quickly throughout all areas of the restaurant Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and twisting Occasional prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work in hot and cold environments associated with kitchen operations
