Job Description

Job Summary We are a fast‑growing Carolina BBQ restaurant looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager with proven BBQ background . This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who knows their way around a smoker, can run a high‑volume kitchen, and takes pride in consistent, high‑quality food.

Minimum 1 + years BBQ experience (smoking, prep, timing, meat management) Experience managing a kitchen team in a fast‑paced environment Strong knowledge of food safety, ordering, inventory, and scheduling Ability to maintain quality and consistency during peak hours Leadership skills with a positive, team‑focused attitude Reliability, professionalism, and strong communication
Responsibilities:
Oversee all kitchen operations and staff Manage daily prep, cook times, and BBQ production Maintain food quality, portioning, and presentation standards Handle ordering, inventory, and waste control Ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are met Train and develop kitchen staff Work closely with ownership to maintain smooth operations

Duties Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality. Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels and minimizing waste to optimize food costs. Supervise and train kitchen staff on food safety standards, proper handling techniques, and efficient workflow practices. Maintain compliance with health regulations and sanitation standards to ensure a safe environment for staff and guests. Utilize POS systems such as Clover for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation. Coordinate shift schedules, manage staffing levels, and oversee day-to-day restaurant or food service operations. Lead staff recruitment efforts through interviewing candidates and supporting onboarding processes. Implement training & development programs to enhance team skills and promote a culture of continuous improvement. Monitor food production processes to uphold quality standards in diverse settings such as casual dining or catering events. Collaborate with management on budgeting, menu planning, and special event preparations like banquets or large-scale catering. Skills Extensive experience in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management within the food industry. Proficiency with POS systems ; cash handling skills. Proven supervisory experience with a focus on staff training & development in hospitality or restaurant environments. Strong knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and food handling regulations. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively. Experience managing inventory control, budgeting, and cost analysis for optimal operational efficiency. Background in managing diverse food service settings such as quick service & fast food restaurants or fine dining establishments. Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on creating memorable guest experiences. Ability to oversee shift management smoothly while ensuring adherence to operational procedures.
