Job Description

KITCHEN MANAGER
Waddy's Bar & Grill - Hudson, SD Position Summary The Kitchen Manager is responsible for leading all back-of-house operations, ensuring food quality, controlling costs, developing team members, and maintaining a clean, organized, and profitable kitchen. This position is expected to lead by example and create a culture of accountability, consistency, and teamwork. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise all kitchen operations Hire, train, coach, and develop kitchen staff Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met Manage food ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships Control food costs, waste, and labor expenses Create and manage kitchen schedules Maintain food safety and sanitation standards Coordinate with front-of-house management to ensure smooth service Monitor equipment maintenance and facility needs Foster a positive and accountable team culture Performance Expectations Leadership Lead by example every shift Hold team members accountable to standards Create a positive and productive work environment Train and develop employees for long-term success Food Quality Consistently deliver high-quality food Maintain recipe adherence and portion control Minimize guest complaints and food remakes Cost Controls Maintain food and labor costs within budget Complete accurate inventory counts weekly Reduce waste through proper ordering and portioning Operations Ensure all prep is completed daily Maintain efficient ticket times during service Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and fully stocked Food Safety Maintain compliance with all health department regulations Follow and enforce all food safety procedures Ensure a clean and safe working environment at all times Success Measures The Kitchen Manager will be evaluated on: Food Cost Performance Labor Cost Performance Food Quality & Consistency Team Retention & Development Health & Safety Compliance Guest Satisfaction Overall Kitchen Organization & Efficiency Non-Negotiables Show up on time and prepared Maintain a professional attitude Communicate effectively with staff and management Lead with accountability and integrity Be solution-oriented and proactive Protect the culture and reputation of Waddy's Bar & Grill What Great Looks Like A successful Kitchen Manager creates a kitchen that runs smoothly, develops a strong team, delivers consistent food quality, controls costs, and provides an exceptional guest experience every day.
Pay:
$48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
