Full-time Position Summary:

The Café Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the school café, ensuring the provision of nutritious, high-quality food and beverages in a safe, welcoming, and efficient environment. The role includes menu planning, staff supervision, stock management, budgeting, and compliance with health and safety standards, all while maintaining a strong focus on customer service for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Operations:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the café including opening, closing, food preparation, and service.

Menu Planning & Food Preparation:

Develop and update menus in collaboration with school nutrition guidelines and seasonal availability; prepare and serve food and beverages.

Staff Management:

Supervise café staff, manage schedules, delegate duties, and provide training and support as needed.

Customer Service:

Ensure a high standard of friendly, efficient service for students, staff, and guests.

Health & Safety Compliance:

Ensure that all food hygiene, allergy, and health and safety regulations are met; maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen and dining areas.

Inventory & Ordering:

Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage deliveries to maintain cost-effective inventory control.

Budgeting & Reporting:

Assist with budgeting, track sales, and provide financial reports to school administration when required.

Event Support:

Coordinate café catering services for school events, meetings, and special occasions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Proven experience in café, food service, or hospitality management Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (Food Safety Certification required) Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Basic proficiency in budgeting, stock control, and ordering systems Passion for healthy, student-appropriate meals and snacks
