Bar Manager Tailwind Deli News & Gifts Inc - 2.8 Chattanooga, TN Job Details Full-time $15 - $17 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Customer communication High school diploma or GED Full Job Description About the role: We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Bar Manager to lead and support our bar and retail operations. Tailwind is a rapidly growing company committed to innovation, growth, and delivering exceptional dining and retail experiences to travelers. This role combines hands-on operational leadership with team development responsibilities to ensure outstanding guest service, efficient day-to-day operations, regulatory compliance, and strong financial performance. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operations Management Oversee all day-to-day bar operations to ensure smooth and efficient service Ensure compliance with company standards, health regulations, sanitation requirements, and responsible alcohol service laws Maintain cleanliness, organization, and appearance of all bar areas, storage spaces, and equipment Monitor guest satisfaction and address guest concerns professionally and promptly Support operational needs during peak business periods by actively assisting on the floor Team Leadership & Development Recruit, interview, train, coach, and develop bartenders and bar support staff Create schedules that align with business demands while managing labor costs effectively Conduct performance coaching and corrective action, when necessary, in partnership with management and HR Foster a positive, team-oriented, and inclusive work environment Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate operational priorities to staff Financial & Inventory Management Monitor beverage costs, waste, and inventory levels to ensure profitability goals are achieved Complete liquor, beer, wine, and supply ordering while maintaining appropriate par levels Conduct regular inventory counts and investigate variances Review sales performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue and guest engagement Ensure proper cash handling, deposits, and POS procedures are consistently followed Compliance & Safety Ensure all employees maintain required alcohol service certifications where applicable Enforce responsible alcohol service and age verification procedures Maintain compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and local/state regulations Address safety concerns immediately and communicate operational issues to leadership Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or restaurant management experience preferred Minimum of 2-3 years of bar or restaurant management experience preferred Strong knowledge of alcoholic beverages, bar operations, inventory practices, and customer service standards Experience managing labor, scheduling, and operational costs Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and early mornings as business demands require ServSafe Alcohol or equivalent certification preferred (where applicable) Physical & Mental Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and carry supplies or inventory items as needed Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and remain composed under pressure Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and leadership Work Environment This position operates in an airport hospitality environment that may include exposure to noise, crowds, cleaning chemicals, temperature changes, and busy operational periods. The Bar Manager is expected to maintain professionalism and operational leadership during all business conditions.
