Job Description
Job Overview Are you the kind of person who can jump from managing inventory, to helping in the kitchen, to booking a band for Saturday night without missing a beat? Bad Rabbit Café at Terlingua Ranch Lodge is looking for a hands-on Café Manager to oversee daily operations, lead our team, and help create a memorable experience for guests visiting one of the most unique destinations in Texas. This is not a desk job. The ideal candidate enjoys working alongside their team, solving problems, building community, and taking ownership of their operation. Responsibilities Supervise all café operations, including food preparation, service, and cleanliness to ensure smooth daily functioning Manage staff scheduling, training, and development to build a motivated and efficient team Oversee inventory control, ordering supplies, and managing food stock levels using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of food handling and hygiene Handle cash transactions accurately and manage cash handling procedures Monitor shift performance, address customer concerns promptly, and uphold excellent customer service standards Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food production and quality control Requirements The Café Manager must possess: High school diploma or GED equivalent Previous restaurant, café, bar, or hospitality management experience preferred Strong leadership and supervisory skills Excellent organizational and time management abilities Effective verbal and written communication skills Exceptional customer service skills Ability to work independently and make sound decisions Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods Ability to obtain and maintain Food Handler and TABC certifications We're looking for someone who can balance leadership, hospitality, and a healthy sense of humor.
