Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Lead Lodging Associate for Fossil Rim's Lodge and Safari Camp leads operations for routine lodging accommodations within a conservation-focused hospitality environment. Working alongside the Lodgings Manager, this position oversees daily lodging operations, including guest check-ins and check-outs, reservation management, guest communications, housekeeping and coordination with maintenance teams. The Lead Lodging Associate serves as a primary point of contact for guest inquiries, service recovery, and special requests, ensuring service standards align with hospitality best practices and Fossil Rim's conservation mission. The position is required to maintain a thorough knowledge of: Guest services and park amenities All pricing, promotions, and offerings Reception & sales desk operations Guest safety protocols and guidelines Detailed information regarding Fossil Rim's operations, history, and mission Comprehensive insights into Glen Rose and its surrounding areas
Specific/ Mandatory Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Represent Fossil Rim with professionalism and provide excellent customer service in line with organizational standards Assist the Lodgings Manager with scheduling, administrative duties, operational oversight, and staff training Maintain understanding of all departmental roles and provide operational support as needed Ensure guest check-ins and check-outs are conducted according to established procedures Respond to guest inquiries by providing accurate information regarding rates, availability, events, and services Assist in maintaining accurate reservation and transaction records Adhere to established accounting procedure when processing transactions and deposits Promote Fossil Rim's mission and services through effective guest engagement and sales support Oversee lodge cleanliness, organization, and inventory management Assist with the setup, service, and cleanup of dining services when required Actively participate in meetings and departmental initiatives Complete additional duties and support other teams as assigned Deliver reports and operational feedback to supervisors as requested This role functions as a front office and first-contact position supporting and promoting visitor experiences at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center.
Experience and Qualities Required:
Hospitality or hotel front desk experience preferred Prior supervisory experience preferred Strong verbal communication and customer service skills Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping. Sales aptitude and comfort engaging guests both in person and over the telephone Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors Computer proficiency and willingness to learn specialized systems Ability to work independently with sound judgment and organization Demonstrated integrity in cash handling Must have a valid driver's license.
Work Requirements:
  • Typically, a five-day, 40-hour workweek; flexibility required, including weekends, holidays, and special events
  • Compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and mission standards
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and wet conditions
