- AM Shift to join our kitchen team. This position is responsible for preparing breakfast items, assisting with food production, maintaining food quality and presentation, supporting kitchen cleanliness and helping provide a positive morning dining experience for hotel guests. The Hotel Breakfast Cook
- AM Shift plays an important role in the guest experience by helping ensure breakfast is fresh, well prepared, properly stocked and presented in a clean and welcoming environment.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys early morning work, takes pride in food quality and can work efficiently in a hotel kitchen environment. Responsibilities Prepare breakfast items according to hotel standards, recipes and food safety guidelines Cook, heat, assemble, replenish and present hot and cold breakfast items as needed Support Verta Bar & Grill breakfast service and hotel guest breakfast operations Maintain proper food temperatures, portion control, quality and presentation Set up, stock and break down breakfast and kitchen stations Assist with prep work, basic cooking, food rotation and kitchen organization Monitor food levels and communicate product or supply needs to kitchen leadership Follow proper food handling, sanitation, storage and labeling procedures Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils and kitchen surfaces throughout the shift Assist with dishwashing, trash removal and kitchen closing or transition duties as needed Communicate professionally with food and beverage, front desk, housekeeping and hotel leadership Support banquet, meeting, group or special breakfast needs as assigned Follow all company, hotel, brand, health department and safety standards Qualifications Required Previous cooking, breakfast cook, prep cook, kitchen, restaurant, hotel or food service experience preferred Basic knowledge of food safety, sanitation, food handling and kitchen cleanliness Ability to follow recipes, production instructions and hotel food service standards Ability to work efficiently during early morning breakfast service Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, carry and complete physical kitchen work throughout the shift Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment Strong attention to detail and pride in food quality and presentation Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to work early morning shifts, weekends and holidays as needed Preferred Previous hotel breakfast cook, hotel kitchen, restaurant cook or prep cook experience Experience working in a Marriott, Delta Hotels by Marriott, Wyndham, Hilton, IHG or other branded hotel environment Food handler certification or ability to obtain required certification Experience with buffet breakfast, made-to-order breakfast, banquet breakfast or group meal service Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus Schedule AM shift Early morning availability required Flexible schedule based on business needs Weekends and holidays as needed Job Type Full-time Part-time Pay Starting at $12.00 per hour and up, based on experience Benefits Eligible associates may be offered: Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company contribution Paid time off Holiday pay Marriott hotel travel discounts and perks Growth and advancement opportunities with an established hotel management company Join Our Team This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking, takes pride in food quality and wants to help create a strong morning experience for hotel guests.
