As an Assistant Manager, you will oversee daily restaurant functions, ensure top-notch customer service, and support staff development—all while maintaining a lively, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service flow and high standards of food quality and safety. Supervise and motivate staff, including training new team members and conducting ongoing development to enhance performance. Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to recipes, presentation standards, and food safety regulations. Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; manage cash handling procedures with integrity. Monitor inventory levels, control food and beverage stock, and coordinate with suppliers to minimize waste and optimize costs. Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and dining area in compliance with health regulations; supervise food handling and sanitation practices. Support shift management by coordinating schedules, overseeing staff coverage, and resolving operational issues promptly. Foster excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns swiftly and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. Lead by example in food industry best practices including culinary techniques, food production, catering services, and bar operations when applicable. Contribute to budgeting efforts by tracking sales data, controlling expenses, and implementing cost-effective strategies. Qualifications Proven experience in restaurant management or supervisory roles within quick service & fast food or casual dining environments. Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, kitchen management, and food safety standards. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; proficient cash handling skills. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in staff training, team management, interviewing, and developing talent. Knowledge of inventory control, food management practices, and hospitality management principles. Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate teams and resolve customer concerns effectively. Previous experience in fine dining or hotel food service is a plus; culinary experience or catering background is advantageous. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting with excellent organizational skills; flexible availability including shifts is preferred.
