  • Full-time About Us Rancho Seco Steakhouse is a chef-driven steakhouse focused on delivering exceptional food, genuine hospitality, and memorable dining experiences.
We take pride in scratch cooking, quality ingredients, and building a strong team culture where accountability, consistency, and growth matter. We're looking for a hands-on Kitchen Manager/Sous Chef who can lead our back-of-house team, maintain high standards, and help drive the continued success of our restaurant. Responsibilities Lead and supervise all back-of-house operations Train, coach, and develop kitchen team members Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and execution Manage food ordering, inventory, and receiving Control food costs, waste, and labor expenses Create and maintain prep lists, recipes, and kitchen systems Enforce sanitation, food safety, and health department standards Schedule kitchen staff and manage daily labor needs Work the line during service and lead by example Collaborate on menu development, specials, and seasonal offerings Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment These responsibilities align with common kitchen manager duties such as staff management, inventory control, food quality oversight, scheduling, sanitation compliance, and cost management. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of kitchen management, or sous chef Strong leadership and team-building skills Knowledge of food cost controls and inventory management Experience in high-volume restaurant environments preferred Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and communication skills Managers Food Safety Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) What We Offer Competitive salary ($45,000
