Job Description
About House of Eli House of Eli is a 501(c)(3) faith-based ministry dedicated to serving young men ages 18-21 who are exiting foster care, the juvenile justice system, or who are experiencing homelessness. We provide a Christ-centered home, transitional living support, vocational training, and life-skills education to help our residents build healthy, independent lives. Position Overview We're looking for a part-time team member who loves creating order, enjoys cooking, and cares about making a home feel welcoming. This role keeps the house running smoothly so our residents can focus on growth and stability. Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and cook three to five meals each week Pick up food items from local food pantries (must be able to lift up to 15lbs) Order groceries, supplies, manage pantry/fridge organization Maintain a clean, healthy, and inviting home environment Check resident chores and keep the chore chart updated Make sure bedrooms are clean, stocked, and read y for new residents Coordinate with volunteers to complete cleaning and home tasks Help manage and organize donations from the community Communicate with residents in a way that reflects House of Eli's mission, values, and ministry culture Qualifications A heart for ministry and a personal commitment to Christian faith Someone who values cleanliness, structure, and consistency Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work well with young adults and model healthy routines A team player who can collaborate with staff and volunteers Reliable, steady, and comfortable being on your feet and managing multiple moving parts Must pass background checks, have a valid driver's license, and meet all program safety requirements How to Apply If you love working in a family environment, a well-run home and want your work to directly support young men on their journey toward independence, this role might be a great fit.
