Position Summary:
The Front of House Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting daily service operations while actively working on the floor and at expo during service. This position is hands-on and service-driven, working in close partnership with the general manager, ownership, and kitchen leadership to ensure clear communication, smooth service flow, and consistent execution across the restaurant. A major focus of this role is overseeing and supporting expo operations, ensuring accuracy, pacing, and a seamless transition from kitchen to table.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and support FOH staff including servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff Actively manage the dining room during service and lead by example Run or closely oversee expo during service to ensure food accuracy, ticket pacing, and clear BOH/FOH communication Collaborate with kitchen leadership on timing, course flow, and guest needs Monitor table flow, wait times, and overall guest experience Coach FOH staff in real time to maintain service standards and efficiency Address guest concerns professionally and proactively Create and manage FOH schedules while maintaining labor efficiency Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing staff development Enforce service standards, safety procedures, and alcohol compliance Oversee opening and closing duties, shift notes, and basic cash handling Help foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work culture
Qualifications:
2+ years of FOH management experience in a full-service restaurant Strong understanding of expo, service pacing, and kitchen-to-floor coordination Comfortable working the floor and expo during busy services Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Calm, confident presence during high-volume shifts Strong guest service and problem-solving abilities Experience with POS systems and scheduling software Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
