That dream led to the original Magleby's restaurant, and for over 20 years Doc greeted Magleby's customers at the door with world-famous breadsticks and a warm welcome. Our Utah Valley family has been serving the community the best food for decades, and thanks to Lenora Parkinson, Doc's wonderful wife of 50+ years, Magleby's dessert recipes have become legendary. We're open from 11am-8:30pm Monday-Thursday and 11am-9pm Friday-Saturday.
Job Summary:
The Manager role in our fine dining restaurant is a very important role. It is one of the widest-ranging positions. One that will impact both guests and crew members. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of food quality and cleanliness. If you have a passion for the hospitality industry and a strong background in restaurant management, we would love to hear from you. You will spend time with the team, training them, developing them to be stronger and efficient, in turn drive the success of the restaurant. You will create a culture that makes people want to perform well. You will also be responsible for forecasting the business along with spending time with guests. We want you to engage in your work, care about the Magleby's brand and the restaurant itself. This will help create a culture and an environment in which employees will want to stay longer and be better. Positive Attitude required. A problem solver as you oversee the daily operations of the restaurant. We need you to be a driven leader who has restaurant experience and loves to motivate, lead and develop their team. Duties will include but are not limited to the following: Ensuring incoming staff complies with company policy Training staff to follow find dining restaurant procedures Maintaining safety and food quality standards Knowledge of alcohol and guidelines Keeping customers happy and handling complaints Supervising daily shift operations Coordinating daily front of house restaurant operations Controlling operational costs and identifying ways to cut waste Appraising staff performance Interviewing / recruiting new employees Interacting with guests to get feedback on product quality and service levels
Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of the restaurant's operations, including staffing, inventory management, and financial performance
  • Ensure that all food handling and safety regulations are followed
  • Train and supervise staff members to provide exceptional customer service
  • Oversee kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new menu items and specials
  • Maintain a clean and organized restaurant environment
  • Implement marketing strategies to attract new customers and increase sales
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in restaurant management is required
  • Strong knowledge of food handling and safety regulations
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Toast POS or similar restaurant management software
  • Ability to effectively manage a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of kitchen management techniques and best practices
  • Passion for providing exceptional customer service
