Schedule varies based on business levels Must be able to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays SUMMARY The Restaurant Assistant Manager supports the overall operation of the restaurant and events under the direction of the Sr. Manager. This role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences, maintaining high food quality and service standards, and ensuring operational efficiency. The Assistant Manager reinforces high standards of attention to detail, cleanliness, organization, and staff performance while carrying out the Senior Manager's operational strategies. They provide leadership by mentoring and motivating staff, fostering a collaborative work environment, and ensuring the team upholds Snowbird's service and quality standards.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Assist in d irect ing daily restaurant operations by managing staff, caring for guests, and resolving any issues quickly and professionally. Uphold world-class Snowbird service standards by leading with professionalism, a positive attitude, and a commitment to exceptional guest experiences. Support on-site management during conferences and special events , ensuring smooth execution and prompt resolution of issues. Conducts pre- and post-shift meetings, communicates with directors via the EOD report, assists with nightly closeout procedures, and leads closing duties in the manager's absence • Help train new employees and support ongoing team training. Ensures staff follow service procedures, including appearance standards and uniforms. Assists with inventory control, placing orders, and ensuring stock levels are maintained . Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to assess staff performance and recommend promotions, transfers, or terminations to enhance team performance, improve guest service, and achieve business goals. Helps maintain accurate daily records, including sales summaries, worked hours, and staff attendance . Assist the Restaurant Manager with scheduling and ensure shifts are properly covered. Maintains good safety practices for employees and guests throughout the property. Follows state policies and regulations for serving alcoholic beverages in a responsible manner. Assist in weekly one-on-one meetings with staff and maintain coordination with the
BOH & FOH
Manager. Monitor performance, provide real-time coaching, ensure adherence to standards, and escalate performance issues to the Restaurant Manager when necessary. Reports to work on time, dressed in the appropriate uniform , and adhering to all company poli cies, state and local regulation s. Assist in event logistics by attending meetings, partnering with internal departments to ensure successful communication and alignment on event goals and deliverables . Effectively utilizes digital inventory and communication systems (e.g., email, Microsoft Teams, Yellow Dog , Square ) and proactively seeks additional training to maintain operational efficiency. Oversee overall building upkeep and cleanliness, ensure guest-facing areas meet standards and coordinate with the appropriate departments when assistance is needed for cleaning, shoveling, or maintenance. Perform other duties assigned by management.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE 2-4
years of job-specific work experience with demonstrated competence, including prior experience in a management or supervisory role . Food Handler Permit, TIPS Certification. Proven ability to manage a fast- paced on mountain restaurant . Ability to interact positively with guests, employees, and all Snowbird departments while maintaining strong working relationships. Strong time management skills with the ability to balance guest service, employee support, and administrative responsibilities during operational hours. Strong interpersonal skills, including guest service, active listening, communication, and conflict resolution. Ability to provide clear, behavior-based feedback and conduct effective one-on-one coaching conversations to support staff development. Must be at least 21 years of age.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Rotating schedule based on business levels, including early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays. Be prepared to stay overnight, if necessary, on occasional times of road closures. May experience unusual stress from continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird. Be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp , and perform repetitive motions in a four-season environment. Position may require skiing or snowboarding from the restaurant to the base ; must be comfortable traveling on mountain terrain in variable weather and snow conditions.
