Daybreak, South Jordan, Utah About Éclair French Café Éclair French Café is a fast‑growing French bakery & café concept dedicated to crafting exquisite pastries, fine coffees, and providing a warm, elegant café experience. We value artistry, consistency, and hospitality. As we expand, we're seeking Baristas who are passionate about their craft, detail‑oriented, quick learners, and committed to elevating every guest interaction. Position Summary The Cafe Manager leads day-to-day operations of the café location, ensuring both operational excellence and outstanding guest experience. You'll oversee staffing, finances, inventory, marketing efforts, and quality control. You'll also serve as a role model and coach to the café team, supporting growth and accountability. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership & Execution Oversee all cafe operations (front of house, back of house, prep, service, inventory, staff schedule) Ensure consistent execution of recipes, standards, presentation, and portion control Monitor daily sales, labor, and costs; analyze variances and adjust as needed Create, maintain, and refine operational procedures, checklists, and systems Manage opening and closing procedures, cash handling, deposits, reconciliations Ensure proper maintenance and usage of equipment, coordinate repairs Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal health, safety, and sanitation regulations Team Management & Development Recruit, hire, train, onboard, and coach cafe staff (baristas, cashiers, FOH, kitchen) Develop staff schedules to balance service demand and labor cost targets Lead by example: work alongside the team during peak periods Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support career development Foster a positive, high-engagement team culture, ensuring open communication Financial & Business Management Create and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial targets Monitor KPIs such as food cost, labor cost, waste, shrink, and profitability Approve and manage purchase orders; maintain relationships with suppliers Identify opportunities for upselling, cost optimization, and margin improvement Coordinate promotions, seasonal offers, and local marketing/collaboration efforts Guest Experience & Brand Stewardship Uphold the brand's standards for service, ambiance, and quality Address guest feedback, complaints, and recovery in a timely, professional manner Engage proactively with regular guests and build community appeal Assist with local marketing, events, and partnerships to drive foot traffic Qualifications & Skills Required / Preferred 2+ years of management or supervisory experience in cafe, fast-casual, or similar F&B environment Strong leadership and people skills — able to motivate and develop a team Solid financial acumen: budgets, P&L, cost controls, forecasting Experience managing inventory, supply chain, and vendor relationships Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation standards in F&B Excellent customer service orientation and problem-solving mindset Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer tools (Excel, scheduling software, reporting) Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Flexible schedule availability (early mornings, evenings, weekends) Desirable Experience in food & beverage operations Marketing or promotional experience Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly rate (based on experience) Tips from sales Flexible scheduling Employee discounts on food & beverage PTO after one year Working Conditions & Expectations Work in a fast-paced cafe environment You'll frequently be on your feet, assist across roles, and may do hands-on tasks May need to work long or irregular hours during peak periods Must be dependable, punctual, and able to lead under pressure
