Job Description

We're looking for a dependable, guest-focused hospitality professional to fill a unique dual-function role. Three days a week, you'll keep the operation running smoothly through administrative and opening/closing duties. Two days a week you'll step onto the floor as a member of our service team, participating in the tip pool and delivering an exceptional dining experience. This role suits someone who thrives in variety, takes ownership, and genuinely enjoys both the behind-the-scenes and guest-facing sides of hospitality.
Typical weekly schedule:
Three admin shifts, 10am-5pm at $17/hour Two service shifts during lunch or dinner Admin shift duties Open and/or close the restaurant per established procedures Respond to reservation inquiries by phone, email, and online platforms Receive, verify, and log deliveries; flag discrepancies to management Conduct pre-shift walkthroughs and communicate readiness to the team Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host and service stations Assist with scheduling communications and daily staff updates Coordinate and book private events; follow up to confirm details Complete daily administrative logs and reports Other operational duties as assigned Service shift duties Serve assigned tables during scheduled lunch or dinner service Provide knowledgeable menu guidance and beverage recommendations Upsell seasonal specials and communicate kitchen updates to guests Maintain accurate order entry and timely kitchen communication Process payments accurately and efficiently Participate in the tip pool in accordance with pool policy Support fellow service staff and contribute to smooth floor flow Uphold guest experience standards throughout the shift Specific service shift days may rotate based on business needs. Schedules are communicated at least one week in advance. Overtime (over 40 hrs/week) is paid at 1.5× the hourly rate in accordance with Virginia and federal law. Requirements 2+ years in a front-of-house hospitality role Solid knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service Organized and comfortable with administrative tasks Strong communication skills over phone, email, and in person Experience with reservations platforms (OpenTable, Resy, etc.) a plus Able to stand for extended periods; evening and weekend availability Professional, reliable, and genuinely guest-focused What we offer: Earn a commission of private event sales booked Predictable, structured weekly schedule Staff meals on shift A supportive, guest-first team culture Room to grow as the restaurant expands
