The Assistant General Manager for the Berkeley hotel plays a pivotal role in supporting the General Manager to ensure the seamless operation of the hotel, driving both guest satisfaction and operational excellence. This position is responsible for overseeing daily hotel functions, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance, to maintain high standards of service and safety. The Assistant General Manager actively participates in pre-opening activities for new properties or departments, ensuring all operational aspects are ready for launch. They analyze financial reports and implement yield management strategies to optimize revenue and control food and operational costs effectively. Additionally, this role requires identifying and resolving operational challenges promptly to maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for guests and staff alike.Minimum Qualifications:
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE AS A HOUSEKEEPING EXECUTIVE.
Proven knowledge of hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage management. Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control food costs, and apply yield management principles. Strong problem-solving skills with experience in identifying and resolving operational challenges. Familiarity with safety procedures and compliance standards in the hospitality industry.Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced skills in data analysis and financial reporting specific to hotel operations. Experience with hotel management software and property management systems. Strong leadership and team development experience in a multi-departmental hotel environment.Responsibilities:
Assist the General Manager in managing daily hotel operations to ensure guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. Oversee and coordinate departments such as front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance to maintain quality standards. Participate in pre-opening planning and execution, including staff training, process development, and safety procedure implementation. Monitor and control food costs and other operational expenses to meet budgetary goals and maximize profitability. Implement yield management techniques to optimize room occupancy and revenue generation. Identify operational problems and develop effective solutions to enhance service delivery and safety compliance. Ensure adherence to all safety procedures and regulatory requirements across all hotel departments. Support recruitment, training, and performance management of hotel staff to foster a productive and motivated team environment.Skills:
