Closing Manager

About Us North Street Press Club is a full-service restaurant and bar in the heart of Farmville, Virginia. We also operate catering services and a food truck, serving our community with quality food, craft beverages, and genuine hospitality. Position Overview We're looking for an experienced Closing Manager to lead operations during our late-night hours (8:00 PM - 5:00 AM). This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy evening environment, takes ownership of results, and ensures smooth, secure operations through closing. You'll work closely with our General Managers to maintain high standards, control costs, and deliver an exceptional guest experience during our busiest and most dynamic hours. Responsibilities Overseeing evening and late-night operations, ensuring all closing procedures and operational standards are followed. Supervising front-of-house and back-of-house staff during night shifts, including training and performance feedback. Maintaining food quality, presentation, and service standards throughout the shift. Managing nightly cash handling, drawer counts, and end-of-day reporting. Monitoring labor and controlling costs during peak evening hours. Handling guest concerns and resolving issues professionally and efficiently. Ensuring a safe environment for guests and staff during late-night service. Enforcing health, safety, and ABC compliance at all times. Securing the building and completing all nightly closing checklists. Supporting catering events and food truck operations that occur during evening hours as needed. Fostering a positive, accountable team culture during high-volume shifts. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of management experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is strongly preferred. Strong leadership and communication skills, especially in high-volume evening environments. Ability to work late nights, weekends, and holidays consistently. Experience with POS system (Toast), inventory management, and scheduling software. Food safety certification (or willingness to obtain). ABC Manager certification also preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make independent decisions during late-night hours. A hands-on attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed.
