The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for cooking and an understanding of food preparation techniques, as well as the ability to work with kitchen staff and ensure that all recipes are followed correctly.
Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of back-of-house operations for one of the winery's kitchens Ensure all food is prepared, plated, and delivered in a timely, consistent, and high-quality manner. Maintain kitchen organization, cleanliness, and efficient workflow throughout service. Supervise, train, and schedule kitchen staff including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers. Provide ongoing coaching and development to ensure a productive, motivated, and skilled team. Promote a collaborative and respectful work environment in alignment with winery values. Work with the Executive Chef to track food usage, control waste, and maintain budgetary guidelines. Ensure all food items are properly labeled, dated, rotated, and stored safely. Uphold all health and safety standards; ensure kitchen and staff are in compliance with local and state regulations. Conduct regular kitchen walk-throughs to check for cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and safe food handling. Maintain sanitation logs and ensure timely deep cleaning of kitchen areas. Work closely with the Executive Chef to implement menus, seasonal specials, and event prep plans. Communicate effectively with the Front-of-House and Events teams to coordinate service, timing, and guest needs.
