Job Description

Job Summary The Flour District, a from-scratch bakery & cafe in Lynchburg is seeking a dynamic and energetic Front of House Manager to lead our bakery team in delivering exceptional guest experiences. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure smooth service flow, and foster a welcoming environment that encourages repeat business. Your leadership will inspire staff, uphold high standards of food safety and customer service, and drive the overall success of our bakery & cafe. If you thrive in fast-paced settings, possess strong management skills, and are passionate about hospitality, this is the perfect opportunity to make a positive impact. Duties Supervise front-of-house staff including baristas and bussers. Oversee daily restaurant operations, including shift management, customer service standards, and ensuring timely food and beverage service. Monitor inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies; coordinate with kitchen management for stock replenishment and food handling procedures Handle transactions accurately using Toast POS. Enforce food safety standards and sanitation protocols in compliance with health regulations Assist in hiring processes including interviewing candidates and conducting staff training & development programs Support budgeting efforts by controlling costs related to labor, inventory, and supplies while maintaining high-quality service standards Address guest concerns promptly and professionally to ensure a positive dining experience Collaborate with kitchen management on food production, catering orders, cooking classses, and special events. Experience Proven experience managing front-of-house coffee/bakery operations. Strong background in hospitality management with a passion for coffee, house-made, and locally sourced products. Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast, as well as Sling and Slack for staff management. Demonstrated skills in staff training, team management, interviewing, and leadership within the food industry Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety standards, and inventory control practices Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards Join us to lead our vibrant team where your passion for hospitality will shine! Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
