Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Certified Dietary Manager and Food Services Director to oversee all aspects of dietary operations within our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in dietetics, management, and food service supervision, with a focus on delivering nutritious, safe, and appealing meals tailored to diverse resident needs. This leadership role requires expertise in managing dietary departments, developing care plans, and ensuring compliance with health regulations while fostering a positive environment for staff and residents alike. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate the dietary department to ensure the delivery of high-quality nutrition services aligned with residents' individualized care plans. Supervise food service staff, providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to maintain a motivated and efficient team. Develop menus that meet nutritional standards, accommodate special diets such as tube feeding or diagnostic evaluation requirements, and reflect current dietary trends. Oversee food preparation, ensuring safety, sanitation, and compliance with all health regulations. Manage budgeting processes for the dietary department, controlling costs while maintaining quality standards. Conduct patient assessments to determine nutritional needs and adjust care plans accordingly. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement health coaching strategies and optimize residents' overall well-being. Supervise inventory control, ordering supplies efficiently to prevent waste and ensure availability of necessary dietary products. Ensure staff adherence to policies related to assisted living environments and resident safety protocols. Requirements Certification as a Dietary Manager or equivalent credential from an accredited organization. Proven management experience within dietary departments, preferably in assisted living or healthcare settings. Strong knowledge of physiology, nutrition science, dietetics principles, and care planning processes. Experience supervising food service operations, including budgeting and inventory management. Familiarity with specialized diets such as tube feeding or other therapeutic nutritional interventions. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative work environment. Ability to perform patient assessments and contribute to comprehensive care plans based on individual health needs. Knowledge of health coaching techniques aimed at improving residents' nutritional habits and overall health outcomes.
