12 Months Job Summary The Field Service Manager oversees operational compliance and performance across multiple nutrition sites. This role ensures adherence to USDA guidelines, proper utilization of commodities, and consistent execution of meal service standards across all locations. Essential Job functions Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with USDA, state, and district regulations. Monitor meal service, Offer vs. Serve compliance, and production records. Oversee ordering processes, including Richmond Restaurant and other approved vendors. Ensure proper handling and tracking of USDA commodities. Train and support kitchen managers and staff on compliance and operational standards. Identify and correct deficiencies in food safety, sanitation, and service execution. Assist in audits, corrective actions, and state/federal reviews. Collaborate with leadership on operational improvements and participation growth. Coordinates and supports the recruitment process and screening of candidates Supports the development on onboarding training and orientation Perform other duties as assigned. Job Specifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required) Strong leadership and team development skills. Compliance and audit-readiness mindset with working knowledge of USDA School Nutrition Programs. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to travel between multiple school sites regularly. Strong communication, training, and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with procurement, vendor management, and commodity usage. Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple locations.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of successful supervisory or field management experience, preferably in food service operations in K-12 or institutional settings.
Certification and License:
Valid Driver's License. Applicable food safety certifications (e.g., ServSafe) are preferred. Working Conditions and Physical Demands This position requires frequent travel between school nutrition sites across the district. The employee may be required to stand, walk, and lift materials in various environments including kitchen and warehouse settings. The physical requirements described are representative of those necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
