Job Summary To Apply for this Job Click Here "I am working with a mission-driven grocery operation in Roanoke that combines traditional retail leadership with community impact. The role offers full P&L responsibility, significant autonomy, strong organizational support, and the opportunity to make a visible difference in the community." The General Manager will be responsible for all aspects of store performance, including sales growth, financial management, team development, merchandising, customer experience, and community engagement. Responsibilities Lead all daily store operations and ensure exceptional customer service Manage department managers and hourly team members across all store functions Drive sales, profitability, labor management, and expense control Maintain accountability for P&L performance and key operational metrics Develop and execute merchandising, inventory, and promotional strategies Manage staffing, recruiting, training, coaching, and succession planning Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company standards Monitor inventory levels, shrink, and product quality Build relationships with local organizations, community leaders, and customers Create a positive culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and service Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction Qualifications 5+ years of grocery, food retail, or high-volume retail management experience Previous General Manager, Store Manager, Store Director, or multi-department leadership experience Strong understanding of grocery operations, merchandising, labor management, and inventory control Proven experience managing P&L performance and operational budgets Demonstrated success in developing and leading high-performing teams Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Passion for serving the community and creating a positive customer experience Experience with Produce, Meat, Deli, Bakery, or Fresh Departments preferred What We Offer Competitive base salary Comprehensive benefits package Leadership autonomy and visibility Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the Roanoke community Career growth within a mission-driven organization If you are an experienced grocery leader who thrives in a hands-on environment and wants to combine operational excellence with community impact, we encourage you to apply.
